outside fun

This morning I decided we'd go outside EARLY and enjoy the backyard. So, I fed the boys and had them dressed by 8 AM. Go me!! I think I was half asleep because I didn't think about the grass being wet until we got out there. I had the boys kinda dressed nice because we're meeting some friends for dinner tonight. We'll, I opened the door and realized it was going to be messy out there!! I figured I'd just bathe the boys when we came back in. I knew they'd have a fit if I tried changing their outfits because they were so excited to go outside.
My little all star!!
Andrew sorta posing... Trying to get up the slide at the same time... And sweet little B...

Blake doesn't understand that he can't do everything A does. He tries so hard to climb up the ladder and slide! I'm hoping it wore them out a little because we've been napping a little later because of VBS this week. We'll see.

In other news, Andrew was upset that VBS was over. This morning he was all talking about and how he was going to see his friends. I tried to explain to him that it was over but he wouldn't take no for an answer! I'm glad he had fun tho.

Matt and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary tomorrow!! Can't believe it's been 5 years already! I'm so excited because we are actually going to dinner and not sure what else without the boys!! That's a treat in itself! Thanks Ann and Ron!!

Well, I better get some things done around here.

vbs part 2

Tomorrow VBS is coming to an end! I'm glad and sad. I'm glad because I am exhausted and tired of waking up to an alarm clock. I'm sad because Andrew has had a blast! Every day he gets in the car and babbles on about what he did that day. He's so excited to tell me! It's so sweet. Blake was so funny because he had to get in on the shot...

I'm not sure how many people attended yesterday but Monday it was 320 and that is counting the volunteers. Our VBS goes to 4th grade. VBX is at night and is for 5th-7th grade. I'm not sure how many kiddos have shown up for that.
Here's how the sanctuary was decorated...if you can see...
And here's my class. I've been teaching with my friend, Dawn. We have a great class with 16 kiddos. And a great high school helper, Laura. Here they are at recreations. Kinda like P.E. We have it at the school next to our church.

And then on to snack. While the kids snack (todays snack was a chocolate covered banana!) they watch a video and learn about missions.
That pretty much sums up our day....except music. I forgot to take pics then. It does go by fast! Blake did MUCH better today and even napped up there! ....which is why he's TALKING in his bed now I guess. He stayed home with Daddy yesterday so they could bond.

Well, I'm teaching tomorrow and need to look over a few things!!

vbs

We are doing VBS this week. I think everyone enjoyed it...well, except Blake. He wasn't too happy up there. It definitely wore us out today as the boys are STILL asleep! Guess I'm going to have to wake them up or they will never go to bed tonight. I'll post pics later.

let the celebration begin...

For the past week or so Matt has talked about Father's Day WEEKEND. For some reason Mother's Day was only a day but Matt felt like Father's Day should be celebrated all weekend. I disagreed...especially since my day was spent in a car for 11 hours traveling. I told him he was lucky if we even celebrated his day since I didn't get the day off. Well, since Matt has to work all weekend, I went back on my word and we started celebrating today! After Daddy left for work, Andrew and I made him some brownies. Andrew stirred and tasted the batter every two seconds to make sure it was okay....

When the brownies were done we decided to take some to Daddy at work. Since they were nice and hot we took him some ice cream!! What a treat!! The boys were very excited to see Daddy and he was surprised to see us! When it was time to leave, Andrew bawled. If Matt got off before Andrew's bedtime I would have left him there!! :)

Anyway, we have a few more surprises for Daddy tomorrow to make his day very special!

Happy Father's Day, Matt!! We think you're the best daddy EVER!!

pool time

Today we took Andrew and his friend to the pool. They are quite the fish!
Like Andrew's swimsuit?...yeah, it's a size 12 months from The Children's Place. I've never had a problem with their sizing before but for some reason their suits were messed up this year. I know this because I went back THREE TIMES trying to find on to fit. I liked them tho because you could actually pull the drawstring and it worked! It wasn't just for looks.

It's so nice to go to the pool (during the week) right when it opens because NOBODY is there!

And this pic of the SplashPad is for Jill P because she didn't know what a SplashPad was. Jill, now do you understand? :)

I didn't get many pics because little B is all about the pool and has no fear! So I have to watch his every move!

where does the time go???

Seriously, I can't believe it's already June! A month ago I didn't think we had much planned for this month but somehow the stuff keeps piling up. Today is the first morning in a while that we have NOTHING planned. Well, I need to clean but other than that we probably won't be leaving the house today. I'm actually looking forward to it!...well, not the cleaning part.

Andrew's birthday party is at the end of the month. He's all excited about it. We are having it at the SplashPad. I feel bad tho because he keeps talking about all his friends that will be there but we're only allowed 20 total (counting us) so we've had to cut some friends! Oh well. He's all about Nemo these days and wanted a Nemo party. Of course sometimes he tells me he wants a Little Mermaid party. I have no idea why! So, hopefully the pool won't be packed and everyone will have a good time.

Blake is almost 13 months. That's really hard to believe. He's such a silly and fun little boy...when he's not teething. We are at 12 teeth now. These molars are pretty hard on him. Thankfully he doesn't wake up at night or anything but just a wee bit on the fussy side during the day. Anyway, just when I think he's done with his morning nap he throws one in there. I really wish he'd quit that because he's been sleeping in and it's been nice...except for this morning when he woke up with a nice present for me!!

I've been working out some lately. I'm down to what I was before I got prego with B but still have a pound to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight with Andrew. It's weird tho because my weight has definitely shifted to other places. ugh! I keep saying that I'm losing 15 more pounds before my next kiddo so I don't have as much weight to lose next time. I just hate working out! The only exercise I like doing is walking and it's just too hot for that...unless you go at 6:30 AM and thankfully the boys are still asleep then!

Well, Andrew is painting and he keeps talking about how he made a big mess...can't be good. It's just one of those paint with water books so I'm sure the water is all over the place..oh well.

playgroup

Once a month we get together with some friends for a playgroup. The kids have fun playing while the mommies chat and watch the kiddos. Usually we have 6 or 7 moms and about 15 kids. The kids get along really well and it's actually a relaxing time.
Here are some pics I took today. Some of you know these kids but I'm not using their names because I didn't get a signed consent to put these pics on my blog. :)
Here's little L...
This is C and she just became a big sister!
Andrew and his bud G-man!
K-bug
her twin M-bear
and we can't leave out little B! :)
Andrew literally played with this train thingy the WHOLE TIME! Why do kids do that? You know the minute I go out and buy that toy he'll play with it for two minutes and be done!!! He cried when we left because he didn't want to leave it. Guess we know what to get him for his birthday next month!
Well, the boys are worn out! (another benefit to playgroup...I didn't have to wear them out myself!) I need to get some stuff done around here. I'm going to get a pedi today and can't wait!!

matching game

Today Andrew helped me unload the dishwasher!! Well, I told him he was playing a matching game!! He matched the spoons and forks and did a great job!! I figure he's old enough to pull his own weight around here. :)
Here he's helping and chomping down on his vitamin...

And this pic is for Talley and only she knows why. :)

boat ride and matching boys...

Today we decided to take the boys out for a ride on Matt's boat...okay, Matt decided...or begged. JK! Since we finally got a life jacket for B, I agreed. We went to Lake Conroe and had a good time.

Here's Blake blowing kisses for the camera. He's such a ham....

Andrew, on the other hand, wouldn't cooperate!!!

We got in the lake and Blake was all over Matt wanting to drive. I think he just liked all the gadgets and gizmos...typical male!

sailor B...he's thinking...I can't move my neck!

We docked in the shade to eat some lunch. All Andrew wanted to do THE WHOLE TIME was catch a fish! Matt decided to humor him...

He was so excited to be on the boat...

On our way home we went to the outlet mall and I hit up Carter's. The boys were in need of some jammies. Why is that the one thing they always need? I ended up getting them matching ones because Andrew didn't want the firetrucks (which were adorable!) He wanted the alligator and dogs which is all they had for Blake. So, Andrew, in 10 years from now when you want to know why y'all had matching jammies??...now you know. It wasn't my fault!
I did get one decent pic...
but that was it.
