busy bees

Well, we've been busy little bees around here lately. We are trying to get Blake's room done. We've painted it...well, Matt did majority of the painting...and now we just need to move in the furniture. We can't do that until we get Andrew some "big boy" furniture. My sister has loaned me her crib for him that turns into a toddler bed. I think we are going to leave him in the crib until after Blake gets here and starts sleeping through the night. It's just so easy to put Andrew to bed and I know he will run with the freedom of a toddler bed. So I will fight that battle when Blake starts sleeping through the night....which will hopefully be as early as Andrew did! PLEASE, LORD!! Anyway, we are looking for matching big boy furniture and will just store his twin bed until we need it.

In the picture you see that we had to hand paint the brown line. We couldn't find tape to stick on the wall. It was a little bit of a nightmare but I'm really impressed with it. Here's the finished project.....
I know it has a glare...but you get the point!! I think we still had another coat of brown to put on when I took this picture.

What was Andrew doing while we were painting?...

You know...just chillin' and watching Johnny and the Sprites with his belly hangin' out!

I'll leave you with this picture of Andrew and his silliness! He loves books! Loves to read them, for you to read them and he's just figure out he can stand them up! It was funny because he would stand them up and then try to fit his big bottom in the middle of them and they would all fall down...and he wasn't happy!!! So that's his latest trick...if you even call that a trick. Carrie, sorry I don't have a video of it. It was quite entertaining for me to watch him try to get in the middle of them!!!

working girl!

Yep, that's right! I'm back working again! Okay, well, it's only 5 hours a week but they take out taxes!!! Anyway, I'm working in the nursery at my church during the Bible studies. I'm doing it two days a week for 2 1/2 hours a day. Not too bad. It's only for the next 2 1/2 months. I've told the lady in charge that I might not be there the whole time. It just depends on how I'm feeling and stuff.

But get this...I had a mom bring her son in Wednesday. He was probably 10 months and as she was taking his jacket of she said..."You might want to keep the other kids away from him because he's been sick with and cold and such lately." Can I just tell you I wanted to slap that mom!!! I know that's harsh but WHY would you bring your SICK kid to church when you can keep him home?????? I was like, well I hope I don't get it! Then she said since it was the first meeting she didn't want to miss. UGH! Some people! Needless to say, I might not last up there long!

temper tantrums

This is what we have to deal with when bringing Andrew in from outside...

I WANNA GO BACK OUT!!

GET THAT CAMERA OUT OF MY FACE!

Trying to pick the lock.

Trying to climb out the window.

Realizes it's a no-win situation!!!

What can I say? The boy loves to be outside. Doesn't matter how long we are out there or how cold it is...he throws a fit when it's time to come in!!!! The joys of children!

silly stories

Here are some things that made me laugh today...

When Matt got home from work he was holding Andrew and telling him hello. I was standing close by with my lips puckered trying to get Andrew to give me a kiss too and he pushed my face into Matt's face....to get us to kiss. So we did and he cracked up laughing! Of course Matt and I thought it was hilarious.

I've been trying to teach Andrew that there is a baby in my belly. I will take his hand and pat my belly and say "BABY!" He will either just hit my belly or say baby. Well, today Andrew saw a baby on TV and he came up to me, pointed at HIS belly and said BABY!

Never a dull moment here!

22 weeks and 5 days

Some of you have asked what my belly looks like these days. I figured I'd share now because in a few months I won't be as willing!! Keep in mind I napped today!

my little artist

Not much to report around here. I took Andrew to the doctor the other day for his 18 month visit and he totally freaked out. Guess he remembered getting his flu shot...TWICE! Doc says he looks good and was impressed with his motor skills...which explains why he hasn't really taken off with his talking. I can tell he is getting there though. He tries hard t o copy us and is constantly babbling about something to me or daddy.
I've been feel great. Really can't complain. I am tired some days but am fortunate enough to snooze when Andrew does. I'm already 22 weeks and it really has flown by. Hopefully the rest of this pregnancy will go just as smoothly!
I'll leave you with pictures of Andrew's latest obsession...

He does these little half circles all over the driveway.

catman

Today Matt is building more shelves in our closet....we've got to clean out the computer room closet to make way for Blake. Anyway, we took everything off the existing shelves and I came across my Halloween costume from 2 years ago...a cat. Well, Andrew kept putting the ears on me and after about a million times I put them on him.....

Hey! What are you lookin' at?

Is that me?

I think I look cute!! Meow!

our Christmas

We started our "vacation" at my in-laws, headed to my parents and then went to Shreveport. Needless to say, by the end of our trip, I was ready to be home!!! We were gone a total of 10 days and while it was nice visiting family....it's nice to be home! I shouldn't complain though because this was our first Christmas with family since Matt and I have been married. Usually Matt has to work some on Christmas day. This year he somehow got off...and it won't happen again for years!
Matt's family and all their dogs!

Prego girls. Jill's being induced to have Jack today!!

Here's Andrew jumping on the blow-up bed with his cousins. He enjoyed being at his grandparents because he could get away with ANYTHING!!!

Andrew playing with his piano/xylophone.

After opening all those gifts Andrew was exhausted!!!

To top off our trip...Matt and I drove to Ruston one morning to see the Taylors. I finally got to meet Logan and William. She has precious kiddos! Mrs. Kathy, sorry we didn't look you up. By the time we left Keri's Andrew needed a nap. He would not have been a joy to see. I hope to get back there before they leave so if I do I'll look you up!!!

I forgot to mention that we also got to meet Miss Stahley! She is adorable! Andrew also enjoyed plaing with Stone. He is only 2 but I think he is going on 8!!

Anyway, we had a nice trip and it was fun seeing family and friends. Now that we are home I'm having to break Andrew of his bad habits he picked up...like constantly having his passy ALL DAY!!!

baby #2

Just thought I would share our exciting news...we are expecting another boy!! It was no surprise as this pregnancy has been about the same as when I carried Andrew. We are very excited and can't wait to meet little Blake Edward. We talked about Nathan Edward (Edward is my dad's name) but have decided to go with Blake. We've already bought his bedding and now I'm anxiously awaiting to start painting!!!...well, I should say for Matt to paint! Just had to share our news! I'll post about our trip later. I'm trying to get some order back in my house first.
