the strains visit!!

Let me just fill you in on my week!...

Wednesday morning Andrew woke up with a little fever. He had been drooling a lot so I just chalked it up to teething. Megan and Jolie were on there way here so I filled her in and she agreed he was probably teething. She also informed me Jolie was too, so we figured they would both be whiney together! ;) Kristi came over later that night and had dinner with us. Thursday I had some friends over for lunch to play with Andrew and Jolie. They all had fun. Jolie started running a little fever, but we chalked that up to teething because she has some molars coming in. Tylenol knocked it out! Then Thursday night Andrew was up all night! He was tuggin on his ear and very uncomfortable! This morning I took him to the doctor and he has croup and an ear infection!!!....plus both his top teeth are coming in!!! Poor guy! When we got back from the doctor Jolie woke up from her nap with a 103 fever! Talk about a house of sick kiddos! Megan decided it was best to leave in case her fever went up and she could take her to her own doctor. Poor Jolie. I hope she wasn't fussy or anything on the way home!! I would be miserable.

Other than the sick kiddos, we really enjoyed our visit with Megan and Jolie. The kids got along great! Jolie is so sweet and such a lovable girl! Even with a 103 fever she was blowing us kisses as she left. I wish they could have stayed longer and the kids were feeling better so we could have actually gotten out of the house! :) But it was great seeing y'all Megan!! I'm SO glad y'all came and we DEFINITELY have to do it again since we are so close!!!

On a side note....Andrew started taking steps yesterday!!! I'm so excited! I really think it was because he would watch Jolie walk. The most he can do is maybe 6 steps, but it's a start!

a sad day

It's a sad day for me today! :( We went to pick Andrew up from the nursery and were told they are bumping him up to the crawlers. I'm bummed because it means my baby is growing up. I'm also bummed because there is not one consistant adult in the crawler room each week. They do have adults in there every week, but it's never the same person like in the nursery. They tried to keep him in the nursery as long as they could (they spoil him!), but they are getting too many new babies. Matt and I worked in the nursery last week and I told Matt how Andrew really needs to be in the crawlers....he was all over the place! They took him into the crawlers today for a bit and said he didn't like it. Hopefully next week he will play more. I just dread the crawler room because they all chew on EVERYTHING! I know my days of having a child who is never sick (knock on wood) is coming to an end. :(

Okay, so it's Friday night and I have no life...does it really matter? No! Matt's gone and I've been playing on the computer with the monkey I stole from Jessica! Well, I guess I should post before people start wondering where I am. I really have nothing to say. We haven't been up to much lately. I had some friends and their children over last week, but that's been about it. Sorry this post is rather boring. I would post a picture of Andrew to spice it up, but Bradley is tired of seeing pictures of him. :( So you'll just have to look at these boring words!!

This is the most recent picture I have that shows both of his teeth. They have grown a little bit more, but I just haven't been able to get a picture of them...or tried. :)

Here's a question for you moms...once they get teeth in did you ....a.) take them to the dentist and b.) start brushing them? According to one website you should take them to the pediatric dentist as soon as they get teeth. My doctor says he doesn't need to go until he's about 2 or 3. He also said I don't need to brush them yet as long as he drinks a lot of water. What do you do? Just curious!

OH MY GOSH IT'S HOT!!!! It is 6:45 pm and it's 90 degrees...according to my weather bug! I know, I'm a nerd and have weather bug. I actually like it b/c it tells me the exact temperature here in Spring! Ok...my post isn't about weather bug...it's about how stinkin' hot it is here!! It's not even summer yet! This is going to be one H-O-T summer! All I can say is.... I am SO glad that I won't be 9 months pregnant this summer!

where DOES the time go?

Well, I've been informed (by Stacy and Deborah) that it's been almost a week since I've last blogged. Deborah...come on, you can't give me a hard time...we're lucky to get a post from you once a month! :)

So, I would fill you in on what I've been doing, but I really don't know what I've done or where the time has gone! I will say that my child, who normally goes to bed at 6:45 is standing in his bed crying! Why? Who knows! It's the joy of having children. The first time I went in there he had a dirty diaper. That would make me cry too if I had to sleep 11 hrs in a dirty diaper. So why is he back up and crying? I just don't know! I've given him some teething stuff because I think that could be part of the problem. Or maybe he knows that Kristi isn't coming to visit him in a week or so....HA! (Kristi, don't get a big head!) It could be that he knows we are eating popsicles without him!! :)

Anyway, I really don't know where last week went. Matt was home a couple extra days so when he's off we are either playing outside or running more errands! This week is a pretty busy week too. I have some friends coming over tomorrow, doctor apt. for Andrew on Wednesday (big 9 month check-up), lunch with Jennifer Kracht Pearce Thursday...which did y'all know she is prego?...about to pop in a month! Then Friday I might go to visit a friend. See, I'm pretty boring these days! Which is why I don't post! Like y'all care what goes on every day in my life! :)

I will share this picture that Matt took with his phone! Today we went walking by the lake and Matt...being the outdoorsman that he is...spotted a turtle and wanted Andrew to touch it. Of course Andrew was pointing at it and just wanted to grab it. So Matt got his little kick out of it and then we finished our walk.

date night!!

So tonight I have a date with two of the sweetest boys I know!! What more could a girl ask for? Yes, my date consists of going out with my hubby and my son. I know we should get a sitter, but I actually enjoy going out with Andrew too! Why should he miss all the excitment? All we are doing is going to eat and then come back home to watch a movie. It's too hard to keep Andrew out past 6:30 because he is fussy and ready for bed....fine by me that my night is cut short because I would rather him go to bed early than late!

My friend with the twins is coming over today. I'm SO excited!! They are both over 6 pounds now so we agreed it was okay to bring them around Andrew. He's not going to know what to do with two babies here. He gets all excited around other babies. Amy, don't worry, tell Sadie I'll be keeping a tight rope on this boy!

Well, someone is tugging at my shorts because he's ready to eat!!
