this is for broughton..

Chris called here tonight and in our conversation he told me that Blake is always making funny faces and doesn't seem as happy as Andrew was. Well, Blake didn't like that one bit!! This is what Blake has to say to Chris.....

all about andrew

I feel it's only fair to blog a little about Andrew since the last post was all about Blake!

I don't know why but on Saturday I decided to cut up Andrew's passy. It already had a few holes in it but not enough to bother Andrew. He still wanted it when he went to bed. Occasionally he would wake up in the middle of the night fussing...I'd go in his room and he'd say...passy!...where'd it go? It was quite funny but between getting Blake's passy and occasionally Andrew's I figured somethings gotta give!! Poor Andrew...it had to be him. He's done really well tho. He fussed that night and then today at nap. He even throws it out of bed. Tonight when I put him down he still wanted his cut up passy but he didn't suck on it....nor did he cry! I was so proud of him!! I hope he keeps it up! I'm hoping after a couple of days he won't ask for it at all. We'll see!

No more passy!!!

Andrew LOVES Blake's mobile. He likes to climb up on the side of the bed and listen to it with Blake. It's cute because Andrew will climb up and Blake will just be smiling at Andrew. Andrew pays no attention to Blake tho. So here's what I caught today...
And then Andrew decides....

that he'll just climb up there with Blake. Guess I've got to keep a closer eye on him now!

I'm going to bed! Blake's been doing really well sleeping these days. He's been sleeping until almost 8AM!! I hope he keeps it up. ahh...guess I should delete that since it's not about Andrew. oh well!

one rolling little guy

I have a really hard time not comparing Andrew's milestones with Blake. It's hard because Andrew did everything early...rolling, sitting, walking, etc. So, when Blake hit ten weeks, in the back of my mind, I wondered if he would start rolling soon since Andrew did then. Blake doesn't get nearly as much tummy time as Andrew did because of his reflux. So, I had myself convinced that Blake wouldn't roll for a while because of that. However, he started rolling!! He actually did it about a week ago and I've just now caught it on camera...well sort of...

I love his facial expressions!!

He's laughing because he's about to roll and he knows I won't be able to catch it all on my camera.

He's too fast! All I could get with my dumb camera was the end pose! Andrew was a slow roller so I could get a step by step picture. Oh well! (There I go comparing again! I'm going to be an awful mom!!)

josh, jill and jack's visit

Blake got to meet his cousin Jack...
Blake enjoyed playing with Jack...however...

Andrew was too busy to play as he was making phone calls!!

Cousins!
We had a nice visit with Josh, Jill and Jack. Andrew was a little jealous of all the babies but he got over it...when they left. :) We had lots of fun shopping and just hanging out!! Thanks for coming to see us!!

And here's a pic of my sweet boys. The only one I got of Blake smiling..Andrew wasn't looking! I can't win!

happenings

Here's what has been going on in our house....I've learned how to give the boys a bath at the same time. Go me! Andrew wasn't too sure what was going on the first time we did this, but now he loves it.

We got Blake a Bumbo seat. I'm hoping this will help with his reflux. I don't keep him in it too long as he doesn't have complete head control yet.
Blake found his hand!

He was happy to see how cute he is!! :)

And I tried putting Blake on his tummy to sleep. He's been sleeping from 7:30 PM until about 5:30 or 6:20 AM. (with a dream feed at 10 PM) However, he wakes up for his passy at least once a night. I thought maybe if he was on his tummy he could find it himself....I was wrong. bummer!
Matt's brother and his family are coming in this week. So, it will be a while before I post again!

andrew's new friend

Jill came in town this weekend and Andrew was beside himself. He loved showing off, was a total spaz and sucked in all of Jill's attention! I'm sure Jill is exhausted from her visit. We had a nice time and it was fun catching up on what's been going on in our lives. Last time Jill came in Andrew was a few weeks old and this time she came back to meet Blake. It was nice having her around because she was a big help!! She probably didn't realize she was going to have to work. :) Sorry Jill! This is pretty much where Andrew was all weekend.

Jennifer came up on Saturday and we girls had a night out! Thanks to Matt who kept the boys. I must say I was totally impressed when we got home and both boys were in bed and the house was kept clean!

No, my child doesn't have red hair. It just looks like it in this picture.

And Mr. Blake appreciates Jill coming to meet him. He liked Jill so much that he only spit up on her once!! Thanks for coming, Jill! Come back anytime!

2 months

Well, Andrew turned two this week and Blake turned two months!! I can't belive that Blake has been here for two months now!! He is doing really well and is a great baby...now that we have his reflux under controll. We have been very blessed with two great boys!

I took Andrew and Blake in for their well visits yesterday. Matt happened to be off so he was able to help...thankfully! Andrew's visit was no big deal. He didn't have to get shots or anything. Blake, on the other hand, had to get 5 shots but only 3 pokes. And did he cry!! Poor thing. Thankfully I didn't have to hold him down. He weighs in at 12 lbs. 1 oz. and is 23 1/2 inches long! He's just as big as Andrew was at this age. Is that bad that I'm already comparing them?

Here are some pics of Mr. Blake. Enjoy!

the big 2

Today is Andrew's birthday. He turned the big 2!! We didn't do a party or anything this year. Last years party was a little too much and too much work. It's a good thing we didn't do a party as I've been sick.Don't you love Andrew's cake? I wanted to do a cake with Elmo on it but with not feeling well I figured it would be a little difficult. So I did cupcakes because he loves those! We had so many that I sent some over to the neighbors. I don't need to be eating those all week.

In other news, I have mastitis..well, I think I'm over it now. I had it with Andrew and let me tell you it is NO fun! Running a fever of 103 and taking care of kids is a lot of work. On top of mastitis I had strep throat. At least that's what I think it was. My dr just called me in some drugs and I'm starting to feel better. Poor Matt had to take care of the boys for me. Luckily he was off today so I got to rest some. :)

Andrew loved his drum so much that he wanted to take it to bed with him. That boys is so silly!

fireworks and striking a pose

In our neighborhood you aren't supposed to pop fireworks. However, they were going off all around us last night. About 10:45 PM they finally stopped. I was getting a little annoyed at all the noise...and so was Andrew.... This is how I found him when I went to bed. Guess he couldn't get to sleep with all the noise. :)
Don't worry...he could breathe....

And here's Blake striking a pose in his new robe.

yucky beach

Yesterday we finally got back from Galveston. I would say we got back from the beach... but that place is nasty! When I heard my dad's side of the family was doing a reunion there I was like...WHY? But then I was okay with it because I would actually be able to make it! We had a nice visit seeing family but it's good to be home. We were gone too long!
Here are a few pics from the trip...

The seaweed was SO bad. Here's some seaweed coming in...nasty!

Andrew ready for the beach! He was funny because he didn't want to walk on the beach at all. Actually, I don't blame him. The sand is like dirt...it's not the pretty sand like in Florida.

Matt fished the whole time. He got this boat right before we left so it was a new toy for him.

Andrew and Grandma at Moody Gardens Rainforest. It was nice having Grandma around. She was a big help. I think she will need a vacation from this vacation!
Andrew got some presents since his birthday is right around the corner. My parents got him this Tickle Me Elmo. He was scared of it at first. It kind of reminds me of the Chucky doll. I figure when Andrew gets a little older he'll be asking me to get it out of his room at night!

And here's little Blake! I finally caught him smiling...and my flash wasn't on!!! Oh well!
