tub time and rambling...

Seems like the only time I think to pull out the camera is when the boys are in the tub...Andrew loves dumping water on his head. When I do it he freaks out! Go figure.
He also thinks it's funny to dump water on Blake's head. Good thing Blake is so laid back!

We were honored with Hardy's presence the other day. He was passing through and stopped by for a little visit.

Most of you know this, but my surgery went well. My Dr. said my cyst on my head was intertwined between two veins and it could come back. Right now we just have to make sure that I don't get an infection. I had some AWFUL headaches afterwards. I literally felt like my head was going to explode but for the past two days I haven't had them. Hopefully they are gone! I'm supposed to make an appointment in the morning to get my stitches out and I can't wait!

Since I've started my job I've worked a whole 10 hours total! They seem pretty laid back like they said they were so hopefully this will continue. I like working little and using their discount!

Well, I guess that's all around here!

I feel so blessed to have such sweet friends...and family. Thank you so much for your comments, emails, calls, texts and prayers. A special thank you to my sweet friend in Dallas who offered to keep my boys so Matt could be there with me. Today went really well. We got home about 11 AM and I've been resting ever since. My foot is all wrapped up and I'm supposed to keep off it for two days. We'll see how long that will last! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Tomorrow we have some friends coming over so I decided to make more salt ornaments for them. I had a big helper. He loved getting dirty and making a HUGE mess. He did have fun, so I guess that's all that matters...

Tonight we went to dinner with some friends and then headed to see some Christmas lights. The kids had fun...running around like crazy munchkins!

Thanks for all your prayers. I went to the Dr. today and he wasn't able to remove it in his office. :( I was not happy. He said it's too close to an artery and will need to be done in the outpatient clinic. I'm also having another one removed since I'm going under. It could have been popped but he said it will come back. Anyway, tomorrow I go and have an EKG, chest xray and blood work done. woohoo! Then I will have the surgery done on Christmas Eve morning. I'm thrilled about that. I have to do it then because Matt is off and I'll need his help with the boys.

Tomorrow I'm having a little minor surgery at 2:00. So, if you think of it, say a little prayer for me. I'm having a cyst removed and if all goes well then he can do it in his office. Thanks!

About a week ago we decided to take Andrew down the street to look at Christmas lights. Well, we found Mickey Mouse. Now EVERY night after Andrew gets his jammies on, he asks to go outside to say nigh-night to Mickey. Luckily it's only 5 houses down. I'm sure the neighbors wonder what in the world we are doing. We don't usually get this close but I felt like this was blog and scrapbook worthy!

It's me!! It's me!! Yep, mine won. Not that any of you are surprised. Matt actually did ....the bell. I will admit that he kept his lines nice and neat...however.... MINE WON!! He did help decorate the tree and put his bell right smack in the middle so he could show it off. And, I will admit that the gingerbread girl was a little scary. Matt made me add the hair and I don't think that helped. Don't worry, she can barely be seen on the tree.

Anyway, here's my little cookie monster....

Today we made salt ornaments. I kept calling them ornaments but Andrew still tried to eat one. Even after he tasted the nasty salt he tried another bite...and then gave up! Andrew didn't enjoy it as much as I did!! Everyone except Blake got to paint one.

eating my words...once again..

I said Andrew hadn't opened any presents yet, but this morning he made a liar out of me!! While I was drying my hair, he decided to open one. You see, last night I was trying to take a picture of the boys and I gave Andrew a present...thinking it would keep him occupied while I snapped some pics...instead... he ripped the gift. I guess he figured today he would just finish the job.

Afterwards, we tried to take a picture for our Christmas cards (yep, I might actually get some out this year) and I thought this pictures was too sweet!

Oh and thanks to everyone for the ideas on the gingerbread houses. I think I'm good to go on the icing so I'll post as soon as we do them.

miss patty cake and other happenings

Yesterday Andrew, Blake, Jennifer Massey and I went to see Miss Patty Cake at my church. I'm sure that's exactly how Jennifer loves spending her Saturdays. She didn't quite know what she was getting into when we made plans but I'm sure she enjoyed it...maybe not as much as Andrew did though!

I wasn't close enough to get a good picture. I was afraid I might need to sneak out if Blake got rowdy...but he was awesome!

Andrew wasn't too sure what to think at first but I think he enjoyed it.

In other news....

Blake is getting big and is SUCH a joy to be around. I seriously thought Andrew was a happy easy baby but Blake is SO much happier than Andrew was. He's always is smiling! He LOVES his big brother and just shrieks when Andrew comes up to him. It's so sweet and I know it won't be long and they'll be fighting like true brothers do. I take Blake for his 6 month check up tomorrow at the crack of dawn! He'll be almost 7 months but they couldn't get us in last month for a well visit. I know Blake has put on the weight but I'll be curious to see how long he is.

Andrew has been going on the potty!! :) He's actually been doing it for about two weeks now. He's done really well. I totally didn't push him this time. It's been all him and has been SO much easier. I just can't get him to go #2 on there so we've been using pull-ups instead of underwear. Once we get that down then we are done...hopefully that will be sooner than later. Pull-ups are expensive!

I'm so excited about Christmas this year!! Andrew is going to LOVE it. He's already enjoying seeing the lights and Christmas tree. I worried he would want to open the presents under the tree but he hasn't bothered them yet...well, they aren't under the tree as we don't have our tree up but they are sitting where the tree goes and he hasn't touched them.

I've started training for my job. I'm really excited about it. I was thinking I would be working about 20 hours a month but I don't think it will even be that much. We'll see. I'm wondering if I'll even start working before Christmas.

We'll my shows are on so I better end this long somewhat boring post.

houston zoo

Yesterday we went to the Houston Zoo. We couldn't have picked a better day! The weather was beautiful (got a little hot when it was time to leave) and there was hardly anybody there! What more could you ask for? We met up with our friends...Jake, Jennifer and Luke. Jennifer took a majority of these pictures. She's awesome! All the boys had a great time. Andrew loved finding Nemo and Dory. We had to go by the aquarium twice! Blake had a great time too! He was so good and was worn out. I'm still exhausted from it today! We were there for 4 hrs!

This is an early shout-out to Matt...HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best hubby and daddy!! We love you! He'll officially be 32 tomorrow. Glad I'm not that old! :)

We are back and not nearly unpacked! UGH! I dread this part....unpacking a million bags, doing wash, and trying to get things back to normal.

Aside from a visit to the doctors, we had a nice visit. Since we won't be making it to Christmas this year my parents had the boys open a few presents with them...well, Andrew did ALL the unwrapping but understood that some were Blake's gifts and not all his! He will definitely be fun at Christmas!!

Blake hit a couple of milestones while we were gone. He's doing pretty well sitting on his own. He's not a pro at it but can sit longer by himself now. He loves playing with his new ball....LOVE this toy! Grandma and Papa did good picking out toys for the boys on their own. I had never seen this before, but B loves it!

Blake started with solids last week. He's had green beans and peas and loved them both! Didn't even flinch with the first bite. Andrew, on the other had, gagged when I gave him peas!!! Hopefully B won't be a picky eater at 2 like his big brother.

Cousin Jack came over for a visit with his mommy, Granny, and Aunt Rachel. The boys loved hanging out with their cousin. I can tell the three boys will be best buds!! :) (that bud part was for you, jill!)
