back by popular demand...

It's ME!! I've been told that you people actually miss my daily postings!! That's what y'all get for giving me a hard time about posting every day...sometimes twice a day!! Now I know you love it because I have been getting emails saying how y'all miss them!! So... :P to you for picking on me!

We are heading home on Wednesday if everything goes as planned. Matt has to work so I have a friend meeting us at the airport. We will be anxiously awaiting Matt's arrival from work that day!!!
We have definitely enjoyed our visit here in Franklin, TN. I don't think Andrew has been put down except to sleep! His drool hasn't hit the floor since we've been here either. One of my nieces is constantly holding him, giving him a bottle, or playing with him. It's been a nice break for me!! (Matt does give me plenty of breaks and is a great helper at home too!) I guess I basically have it made either way. Andrew has been a little out of sorts. I'm hoping it's because of his runny nose. I put him down for his nap and about every other nap he cries. That's just not like him. I hope it's because he's kind of having trouble breathing and not because he is being spoiled rotten here. I would definitely let him cry it out, but since we aren't at home, I get him back up. I have a feeling that when we get back home he is going to be a bear and not want to take a nap. I'm a little worried. Guess we will find out Wednesday!!!

we made it!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we did make it to TN!! Our flight was delayed by an hour and a half, but luckily that did bother Andrew one bit. I was so worried he wouldn't get a nap in and would be a total bear on the plane...but I ended up pushing him around in his stroller while we waited and he was out! He did fine on the plane and everyone was so friendly saying how we was so good. Hopefully he will do great on the way home. It was a direct flight so that was nice.

We are missing daddy...and I know he's missing us. Andrew's been a little fussy some. I think it's from lack of sleep when we first got here. Matt says it's because he misses his daddy. His nose has been runny so I am hoping that he's not getting sick.

My only pain with flying was when I went through security Andrew was in his stroller/car seat and when it was my turn to go through the metal detector the rude lady said...you need to break all that down! I was like....well, I must not have seen the SIGN!!! I mean does she think that I will just know what the crap I'm supposed to do? So I got Andrew out of his car seat and the man behind me held him so I could break it all down and send it through the dumb machine. I was surprised it even fit. Now this man I handed my child to...he had been talking to me some so it was like a complete stranger....well, sort of. So I was a little annoyed about that whole having to break the stroller down and all. I just figured it would just go through the medal dector too. Well, see how it goes when we go home. I'll probably break it down and then will tell me it's supposed to go through the metal detector or something....oh well!

the BIG day

Tomorrow is the big (somewhat dreaded) day. Andrew and I are flying to Nashville to see my sister and her family. ...I know y'all already know this. I really only dread the flying part. Normally I am all about flying, but I'm a little nervous on how Andrew is going to be. I'm just worried that Andrew will get tired and fight trying to sleep in my arms. He likes to just be put to bed. So we will see how that goes. Anywho...thanks for the well wishes!! And yes Jessica, I will try to comment on the blogs if I can't post some!!

Well, I figure it's time for me to post again before the blogger nazi gets on to me. I will admit I liked my last post about lurking that I didn't want to bump it down yet. Of course I know some of you read it and didn't answer!!!

Not much new here. Only exciting news was the police came to my house last week. They were here to arrest Matt...JK!! ...that's how rumors get started!! I had actually set off the house alarm. I opened the back door thinking the alarm was off and...it wasn't! So I RAN to the front of the house and shut it off. It took a whole 5 seconds for me to get there and shut it off. Then Andrew and I went to play in his room and I grabbed the phone in case the security people called. They never did. I decided it was okay to pack up and head to Target. As I'm getting stuff ready my cell phone rings. Now anyone that knows me knows my cell phone doesn't work at my house!!! Stupid Cingular!! I look at the number and didn't recognize it. I tried to answer it, but of course...no signal! I checked the message and it was the security people telling me my alarm went of...DUH! So I put Andrew in his car seat and my home phone rings. It's my friend Eileen. She says...Shandra?...your home? I said..yes isn't that where you were calling? (me and my sarcastic self) She then proceeds in telling me that my security people called her! I'm like... those idiots didn't call my home phone. So long story short...I call them...they claim they called (whatever!) and we settled it. As I am grabbing Andrew's car seat I glance out the window and a constable goes passing by. I thought...you've got to be kidding me!! He passes my house up and I'm relieved... and then he stops and backs up. So I open the door and he's all trying to get his flashlight and stuff out of his car and I was like...hello!?!...don't shoot me...I live here!! It was no big deal and he left! So that was all the excitement here!!

I'm leaving for a week with Andrew. We are heading up to TN to see my sister and her family. They are so excited because they haven't met Andrew yet. Hopefully Andrew will be good flying. I know when I used to fly and I would see kids I was like...great a baby. :O Now people are going to look at me and be like....great!..a baby! So if I don't post in a while...now you know why!!

lurker

I totally admit that I am a blog lurker/stalker...whatever you want to call it. I can't believe how many old Tech people have blogs! I would comment on some of them, but don't want to make a fool out of myself when they don't remember me. :) It's really neat to see everyone and hear what's been going on in their lives tho!! So, come on, admit it....are you a lurker too???

Can I just say that while everyone was here this weekend they kept calling Andrew a mute. Of course they were teasing, but he would hardly babble or squeal around them...and definitely wouldn't say "mama" so they think I'm lying about that. Ever since they have left my child is back to his "normal" self. He has been squealing from the top of his lungs and talking up a storm. If I knew how to record it and download it to this site I would....but I can't figure it out (so y'all will think I am lying again!) So girls...I would take it personally my child was mute around y'all because y'all scared him!! :) Jk! Let's just say you better be glad because it's 7:50 and he would have had you ALL out of bed before 8!!

the paparazzi has left!!!

This weekend Andrew thought the paparazzi was here. He had cameras on him all weekend and he was loving it. He LOVED the attention from all the girls. I think he is already a little bored with me this morning.
It was great seeing everyone and meeting up with Jennifer Pearce, Todd, Michelle, Kristi and Deborah. Hope you Dallas girl and Deborah had safe travels home. I'm sure you're ALL sleeping in today (except Deborah)!!! I, on the other hand, got up at 7 because Andrew doesn't care that I partied all weekend and have had little sleep...it's okay...I'll catch up at nap time.

parTAY!

So the big party is here this weekend!! Mandy, Deborah, Jessica, Stacy and Linda are all coming to H-town. Good times, good times!! I'm excited to see everyone as it's been months since we've gotten together. So if you read Mandy, Jessica, Kristi, or Deborah's blogs they will be too busy this weekend to write!!

aunt jill

Well, these pics are for all to enjoy :), but really for Aunt Jill. The ones of him sitting were all blurry because I was trying to make him smile and take the picture at the same time... obviously I am not as talanted as I thought I was!!

Well, Andrew had his 6 month dr apt today and had to get shots. :( Poor thing. When she first stuck him he was like...what the crap?..and then the loud scream came. Matt asked if always screamed like that. I was like..wouldn't you?! So he's in the 50 % for weight and 75% for height in case you were wondering. :)

After that we went to my friend Judith's for lunch and play. Her boy is about to turn 2 and Andrew loves to watch him. He's so cute because he loves "baby Andrew!" So now we are home and Andrew is out cold. I have a feeling he will be out for a while. We are meeting up with my cousins tonight so hopefully he won't be a bear!

This is just a vent...why do people who live beyond their means expect people who don't (like me) to help bail them out? UGH! I won't elaborate because it's too long of a story!

i'm such a sucker!

I am such a sucker for reality tv. Matt would TOTALLY agree to this and then make his usual comment...it's all rigged!! Whatever! So last night the bachelor comes on and after the last bachelor or bachelorette I said I wasn't watching that dumb show again...because come on...are Trista and Ryan even really married? ABC probably just did that to boost their ratings!

Anyway, now I'm all into it AGAIN! I guess I just think it's funny how they fight over this guy and how they all think they are in "love!" Just makes me laugh. Glad I wasn't ever that desperate! Oh...and the dr girl that he didn't give a rose to?...you know, the one who came back and asked why she didn't get picked?...can we say PSYCHO!! I'm glad she's not my dr!!!

happy 1/2 birthday!

TO ANDREW!! He's 6 months old today!! It's funny because when I was pregnant people were always like....oh they grow so fast...enjoy these times. I was like...yeah, yeah, yeah! As I look at my little man I really can't get over how fast he's grown! Makes me sad to think how fast it went, but makes me happy to think of how I've been there for every milestone and growth spurt. I am very blessed to be a stay at home mom and wouldn't change it for a minute...so Happy 1/2 Birthday to you Andrew (who is sitting in my lap as I type this trying to eat the laptop with his passy in his mouth.)

ugh!

You people! ....Shandra, you blog too much ....they say. Shandra, you haven't blogged in a while...where are you...they say! Okay, okay! I'm here and ready to blog...with a slight headache from an hour nap I just woke up from!! :) (Love Sunday naps!)

So OBVIOUSLY I haven't blogged because I have really nothing to blog about!! We had a couple over Friday night that are new to our church. They are a young couple...like us :)...with no children. I met them one Sunday in October when they sat behind me in church (Matt was at work that day) and invited them to my class. Ended up they live about 3 miles from us in an apartment. Anyway, her hubby is a pilot and travels a lot and they are brand new to the area knowing no one. I knew I needed to be her friend because I know exactly what it's like to be in a new place and not know a soul! When we moved here we lived in an apartment (which is hard to meet people) and it took us a couple of months to find our church... and meet people. So I just thought how I would have loved someone to have realized I needed a friend at that time in my life and made it my goal to be her friend! Anyway, they are a great couple and we've been hanging out with them a lot.

Saturday was like Jessica's day...we bummed after run little errands. Matt worked and we just hung out that night.

Today we went to church (Matt was actually off today..first time in probably 3 months) and afterwards we got some friends together and went to lunch. It was really nice. I've also decided that I'm going to start a Bible study at church on Tuesdays. Before I felt like Andrew was too young to be in the nursery two days a week and now he enjoys being in there. So I am really excited about that.

Now everyone is up to date with me!! It's a beautiful day here and I think Andrew and I are going to see what daddy is doing outside!!

pet peeves

Something triggered me to start thinking about these...so here are just a few of my pet peeves...

1. Children's stores who have racks jam-packed everywhere and you can't push your stroller around!

2. People who talk on there cell phones in stores (yes, I do use mine, but not..) REALLY LOUD!...and if it's in another language I get really annoyed!

3. People who pull out right in front of you and go slow!!!!

4. When people are in front of me at red lights and are smoking...I smell that smoke and it BUGS me!!

5. People who copy you!! (Carrie that's for you!)

baby talk

Can I just say that my child is saying "mama." YEA!!! He said mama before dada!! :) I totally have not brainwashed him either...like his daddy thinks! It's probably because these Arkansas people keep sending him stuff that says..."more like daddy everyday" and "I love my daddy!" We have some "I love mommy" stuff, but not nearly as much as daddy. But it's okay because he said MAMA first!! :) I'm not being a total brat. I'm working on dada with him, but he just likes saying mama!!

post office

The one place in the WORLD that I HATE to go (besides the dentist) is the POST OFFICE! That place gets on my LAST nerve! I had to pick up a package for Matt today and figured since I would be running around it would be no problem to stop by there. Well, I should have known when I couldn't find a parking spot that it was going to be ugly! After circling the parking lot I finally found one. I get Andrew out of his car seat and head in....with nothing but Andrew, my purse, and the slip for the package. I open the door and the line is all the way around the corner. After 15 minutes of standing in line holding Andrew...I was getting annoyed. Matt is buzzing my cell...it's hot and then Andrew spits up. I'm like....great! ....I have no diaper bag. So being a great mom...I just pull his socks off and use them to clean the mess...nice! So finally when I make it out of the lobby area and actually into the office area I realize there are only 2 counters OPEN! So why the heck did they have 8 when they only open 2?! I felt like I was at WalMart!! A guy comes and opens another counter, but when I get to the front of the line he leaves! I wanted to SCREAM! So 45 minutes later I got my package and left! No more will I EVER go back to that place!!! Andrew agrees!

under the weather

Andrew has been a little under the weather lately. When we went to Shreveport it was cold in the evenings and hot during the day so he got all messed up. We got back home and he could hardly breathe. I called the dr today to see what I could give him and of course they wanted me to bring him in. He gave me some medicine to help him breathe so hopefully he will sleep through the night tonight. Last night he woke up at 1 AM and I could hear him playing on the monitor. I thought...you've got to be kidding me! I went in his room and he was all excited to see me. I flipped him over and said...go to sleep! I could tell it was going to be a long night after that...and it was! He woke up a couple of times after that. It's hard when a baby is sick because you don't know exactly where it hurts or if they are really "sick." When I saw the dr I said to him...you are probably thinking I am a paranoid first time mom...but your nurse made me come in. I just wanted some free advice over the phone!! Well, hopefully he will get over this soon and it won't turn into anything else. Guess our shopping day tomorrow could be postponed if we have a long night tonight...I still have Christmas gifts to take back!! HA

New Year's Resolutions

I think new year's resolutions are totally overrated, but this year I have decided to stick with them!...longer than I normally do. I have decided I am going to workout more...not just walk. Our neighborhood is building another clubhouse (won't be finished 'till March tho) and it will have a workout facility. I have set a goal of going there at least 3 times a week. I should be realistic and say just 2 times a week...but I like to set high goals! I also think I am going to blog more...that's for you Jessica!! :) So what's your new year's resolution???
