vacay

So, tomorrow our vacation begins! Somehow I manage to take half of the house with us. It's hard with kids. Everything is a need! It's more work packing for 3 now. Andrew wasn't much help as he kept unpacking his bag of toys I thought I had in a good hiding spot. Anyway, I'll do my best to update at least once while we are gone!

terrible twos

So when do the terrible twos end???? Do I have to wait until July 9th?? I don't think I'll make it! My precious Andrew was all about throwing a fit today when he didn't get EXACTLY what he wanted! Gee...I can't wait for Blake to turn two!

the boys

Well, I haven't updated in a while because the only thing we've been doing is meeting old friends at The Children's Museum. It's hard to really visit when your chasing your kids around, but hey...it beats playing in the heat! Anyway, no pics to prove it because I forgot my camera...both times! But Andrew enjoyed playing with his friends, Kate and Benjamin!!

On to other stuff...like Blake! You know, Blake's been rolling from his tummy to his back for about 6 weeks now. It was so cute...at first! He was so quick that I couldn't catch it on camera. When he first rolled over I was so excited because this meant I could put him to bed on his belly!! Life was great! He'd been sleeping 12 hrs at night and all was just grand....until 2 weeks ago!! Blake started rolling over in his sleep!!!! UGH! It wouldn't be that bad if HE DIDN'T WAKE UP! He has been doing this at least once a night. The first time he did this he kicked on his mobile. I heard the music playing at 3 AM and wondered if he was having a party in his crib. He was all talking and cooing. I went in there to find him looking at his mobile. He was so excited to see me. I thought it was cute and funny...mind you this was the first time this happened. Now, he's just rolling on his back and talking. He hasn't turned his mobile on again and he's not looking so cute at 2, 3, or 4AM!! I'm tired and tired of going in there to flip the boy back over! Do you think it would be bad if I put a brick on his back to weigh him down? Anyone have any ideas? I've tried putting him down on his back for naps (which my Dr said not to do b/c of reflux) but he doesn't like it. The culprit!

Andrew has taken a liking to Blake these days. He is constantly giving him kisses on his head and trying to play with him. He even tried to teach him to play the drums....

We've been working on potty training with Andrew. We put him on it every night before he goes in the tub. He's gone in it once and I think we were so excited that we freaked him out. He wouldn't get back on it for a week after that. Now he likes to sit and look at a book. Go figure! We leave in less than a week to visit family and are looking forward to it. We will be gone a little over a week. I'm dreading trying to get the boys back in their routine when we get back though! I'm praying that Blake will forget how to roll over so I can get some good sleep before then!

soon to be best buds & another flippin' recall

Today I kept a friend's baby for a couple of hours. He's two months older than Blake and was very good! Blake had fun with his friend. It will be neat to see these boys grow up together!On another note, can I please have ONE MORE THING RECALLED?!?!? I'm getting tired of all this. It's a pain!!

where DOES the time go?

Seriously? Blake is already 3 1/2 months old!! Maybe since I was a little sleep deprived in the beginning it went faster...who knows. All I know is he's growing fast and I already miss that baby phase. I told Matt the other day that I'm ready for another. He nearly drove off the road! :) IF we have another it will be a couple of years.

Blake is definitely in a fun phase! He laughs and is constantly talking. Andrew can walk past him and he starts to smile. Too bad Andrew won't pay him any attention!!! I know that will all change when Blake can do more.

good ol' friend

Yesterday we got to see our old friend, Kristi!! Andrew was beside himself. I'm not sure if he remembered her (maybe so) but he sure did love the attention!! He was SO jealous when she would hold or look at Blake. He was a total Kristi hog!! Of course I didn't get pics so here's one from back in the day. Andrew was 6 months...boy has he grown! Thanks Kristi for taking time out to come see us. We definitely enjoyed our visit!

H-O-T

Well, I haven't posted in a while because I wanted to make sure everyone saw that awesome coupon. It expires today so I hope y'all got some great deals! Blake will definitely be set. I made some of Andrew's food when he was a baby and wondered how I was going to find time do that with two kiddos. Guess now I won't.

In other news...it's HOT...as I'm sure it is everywhere else. Poor Andrew doesn't understand why he can't play outside. I'm pretty sure he'd play out there in 110 degrees if he could. He loves being outside. Here's how Andrew has been trying to stay cool....

I was making smoothies and the boy stole my strawberries. I have no idea why!

One last thing...recently 2 people have made comments to me about how I have my hands full with two boys. One of the comments was..."We were all standing around looking at your pictures and talking about how you sure have your hands full! (hahaha)" Why does that get on my nerves?? I think I take that comment as someone telling me I can't handle my job of being a mom...like I'm failing! And I don't think I am. I think life with two kids is a lot better than I thought it would be. Maybe because people scare you to death that you think it's going to be awful and crazy or maybe it has a lot to do with Matt being able to be home by 3 or that Blake is still a baby and sleeps a lot. But when these 2 people made this comment I just sat quietly and thought I should be defending myself. I should add that one person hasn't even been around me and the boys...she's just seen pictures and the other person has no kids so of course she's clueless as to what it's like being a mom. And no, it's not anybody from here! :) I will say that some days are harder than others and we definitely have our moments...like yesterday when Andrew wanted to get out of his stroller for story time and Blake wanted to eat! But I've learned...you just leave!!! Why stress myself out? I know as the boys get older we will definitely hit different challenges...like Blake will be the one who wants out of the stroller and Andrew will probably be the one throwing a fit to eat!!

Go here for an awesome coupon on Gerber products at Target. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page...click on the coupon...click generate and you can print a ton of the same coupon. I printed 10 and got Blake some jar food and finger foods that Gerber makes. I went back today for more! I'm just storing them for when he starts eating solids. You must use the coupon at Target and it must be printed in color. It expires soon so hurry!

Well, my sister and her family left yesterday. I was quite exhausted as we did nothing but shopped! We enjoyed our visit and Andrew enjoyed the attention. He must have been exhausted too because he slept for 3 hours today! Anyway, my sister got a new camera and she thinks she's a pro at taking pics. She's no Linda...but she did get some cute ones! I will leave you with a few...
