tuckered out

VBS is over and boy am I glad. I've been exhausted when I get home. Guess my body isn't used to all that work!!...and I only had 11 kids. Guess it was just constantly being on the go. Today Andrew and I came home and slept the afternoon away. He slept nearly 4 hrs. He was just tuckered out!! Poor guy!
I've decided that next year (if I do VBS) I won't be a teacher. It's sad because I LOVED teaching the kids and all, but I just can't handle all the meetings and how they made such a big deal out of decorating the rooms. During the opening ceremony, they threw out toys and some of my kids were really upset when they didn't catch anything. I didn't blame them because some kids caught big stuff animals. I really didn't see the point to all that. To me, it was a waste of money!!! Whatever tho! I know that my kids got a lot out of it and I did enjoy it. I just don't understand why they go WAY overboard on some things. Guess I will never know! Well, we did have to fill out an evaluation sheet and I did express some of my concerns...maybe I won't be asked back next year!!! :o

vbs

Well, I've been doing VBS this week. My friend, Dawn, is helping me with it and we are having a great time. I will say that it is kicking my butt...that might not be appropriate to say...oh well! Anyway, we are constantly doing something from 9-12 and have no time to stop. It's a lot more work than I remember. When I get home I'm exhausted!! Poor Andrew goes with me and won't take a morning nap there because he has too many toys to play with and he sleeps away the afternoon!...which is nice for me.

I had a friend come help me at VBS today. Some of you may know her....Carrie Owen!! Her husband had some work to do here so she came up to my church and hung out with me!! It was fun seeing her and hopefully next time she comes in will have more time to visit!!!! WE BETTER CARRIE!

That's all from here...need to hit the hay because I'm exhausted!!!

soooo big!!

Video Hosting - Upload Video - Video Sharing
Here's Andrew and his latest trick! I know I sound pretty annoying in the video but I was so excited that Andrew did it...and if you listen carefully he tries to mock me!! My boy is growing up. Oh, the video STINKS because I took it with my phone. I was afraid by the time I got the video camera...he'd be on to other things!

here's what we've been up to...

Well, we made it back from the great state of Wisconsin Tuesday evening. We left Saturday morning and sat on the runway for 3 hours until the storms passed. Our flight was 2 hours long so we were on the plane for a total of 5 hours!!! I was about to go insane! For 3 of those hours we had NO air!!! Andrew was SO good though. He walked around with Matt, watched Baby Einstein, and slept. The flight was terribly bumpy and the landing was awful! I didn't want to even think about coming home!!

We had a nice visit with family and friends. I hadn't been to Wisconsin since my grandma died in '95. I know, that's a long time. My grandfather is 94 years old and looks great...well, he was a little pale but his sense of humor was amazing!!! He lives by himself and has people check in on him. He loves to work on model planes and it's amazing to see what all he has done. We saw him on Sunday along with all my aunts and uncles on my mom's side of the family. I will say it was pretty hard to tell him goodbye because, in all honesty, I know I will never see him again. It's hard to get up to WI and he's not able to come down here. I am glad I got to go and visit with him one last time. It amazes me because I have cousins that live in town and when I asked them how often they see Grandpa they told me it had been a year or so! I know it's hard to get caught up in your own life...but come on!

On Monday we celebrated Andrew's birthday early with my family. He was pretty fussy as he needed to go to bed, but enjoyed opening and playing with his new gifts. Andrew got a cheesehead from his grandparents. Go figure!

We flew home on Tuesday and celebrated our anniversary on Wednesday. It's pretty much been a whirlwind since I've been home. I was unpacking, cleaning and Thursday I worked at church for 2 1/2 hours.

I don't have many pictures from my trip because I left my camera behind. When my family emails more to me I'll post them.

umbrella stroller

Can anyone give me some info on a good umbrella stroller? I know they have cheap ones for $10 but I want a little more than that. I walk a lot so I would like a good sunshade and basket of some sort. If you are lurking and can give me some info feel free to leave me a comment. If you are a single guy who reads this...I don't want any info from you!!! Thanks!

LOOK!! IT'S A NEW POST!!

Well, I went surfing on blogs and it's pretty boring out there. No one has really updated lately, so I figured I would!! :) You can thank me later!

We took it easy this weekend. I think the most excitement we had was taking Andrew to the pool. He loves the kiddie pool area, but isn't sure what to think about the pool. He just watches all the other kids. He played so hard that he came home and slept for nearly 15 hours!! Guess we wore him out! Maybe I should take him there every day!!! Just kidding...he has always been a great sleeper...which is why we won't be having more children!

I have decided to take the job at church and just see how it goes. They really need the help. If it gets to be too much then I will quit. No biggie!

I'm all ready for VBS and have ANOTHER meeting tomorrow!!! AHH!!! What can they possibly tell me??? I mean REALLY! We've had 3 or 4 meetings now! What the heck? I am getting a little annoyed because they 1.) repeat stuff over and over 2.) have printouts that they feel need to be read to us .... I know I had a 3rd reason, but I can't think of what it was.

Hope you appreciate that I've updated!!...I should be packing!

VBS and a job offer

Today I ran up to church to pick up my VBS packet. I'm going to be teaching kindergarten and am pretty pumped!! I have a lot of work to do, but will get it done eventually. Anyone wanna come decorate my room? They make such a big deal out of decorating the rooms. Each teacher was given $40 for the decorations. It amazes me because I would think that money could go towards other things...but what do I know?!!?

While I was up at church they offered me a job! I know, kind of crazy seeing how I wasn't looking. It's not some big important job...it's just working in the nursery area. It's only one day a week for 3 hrs and the pay is great! There are a few pros and cons about it. Pros...money, the people I would work with are great, and Andrew would get to go with me. Cons...Andrew could get sick more, it's 20 mins. from my house, and I wouldn't be able to go to Bible study. They are very flexible on the scheduling and in August they would like for me to do it two times a week. Not sure what I'll do. I'm kind of torn because the point of me staying home is to be with my child...but then I'm like, it's only 3 hrs 1 day a week...it can't hurt him.

busy, birthdays and probably a boring post

I don't know how my weeks fill up so fast! Just last week I was thinking I had nothing going on this week, but somehow that all changed.

Today was my day to do nothing but clean. I didn't even finish...probably because I did a lot of procrastinating!! I just have to vacuum our room and mop the floors. Usually those jobs belongs to Matt, but he's on 'company business' this week. So, I figured I would be nice and do it for him. The rest of the week is filled with VBS meetings, Bible study, and visiting friends. I still have other things I need to do and people to see, but those will have to be pushed off until next week.

We are going to see my grandpa in about 2 weeks. I'm so excited because he's 94 years old and I haven't seen him in 10 years. I know that's pretty bad. He lives in WI so it's hard for me to get up there. I have written him letters over the years... more now since I've had Andrew. Anyway, I'm also happy because Matt's going to fly with us.

I'm also working on planning a big birthday bash for Andrew! I think we are going to do a Baby Einstein party. Maybe when he sees all the Baby Einstein stuff he will get excited. My sister told me to do Thomas the Tank since his room is in trains, but I'm kinda tired of all the train stuff. I think he'd like Baby Einstein better...okay, now I'm just rambling.
