relaxin' and teethin'

Today went by so fast and right now is the first time I've been able to sit down and relax! I've been busy making Andrew some food. Fun stuff! I was all for buying the jar food, but was getting a little bored w/ the same stuff! After talking with some friends...Amy included.. for ideas on making your own baby food, I decided to make my own. It was actually kind of neat and Andrew really enjoyed dinner tonight!! Feel free to give me any baby food recipes!!

Speaking of Andrew...poor boy...he's been SO fussy lately!!! He got his first tooth in last week and now I can see another about to break through. So really he's been fussy for the last two weeks. I am hoping we get a break and won't have another tooth coming in for a while!!

Matt would like me to add that Andrew's tooth is not completely in!! It is partially in. I'm sorry if I have mislead you!!

random stuff

Kristi came over last night. We had some good food!! Except I remembered today Kristi that I forgot to make my rice! ...oh well!

My living room is still in shambles. I'm still working on my scrapbook. I've done 16 pages and am STILL not caught up! I even took more pictures of Andrew today and was thinking...now I'm going to have MORE to scrap! Matt just ran to Michaels to get me some tape. I normally buy all my stuff from my sister who sells Creative Memories. However, when I ran out of tape on Sunday I decided to run to Michaels to get some other tape. I didn't want to wait on my sister to send it. So then on Tuesday I ran out AGAIN! And tonight I ran out AGAIN! I should have just told my sister to send me some because her tape last a heck of a lot longer than Michaels junk!

As for Andrew ...he's been keeping us busy! He's all over the place. Everyone always said that when they start crawling you will hate it, but I actually love it! He can get where he needs to be and is actually understanding what NO means! It's funny because at night when I start his bath water he will hear it and come crawling in there...as if to say...I'm ready for my bath mom!! He's also been standing for a few seconds by himself too...I see walking in the near future!!! I'm attaching a picture of him standing. I took it with my phone so the quality isn't that great. Oh...ignore my scrapping junk in the background! Anyway, I can't believe how fast this time has gone and how much he is able to do!! Fun times!

um...so yeah, this post is for Kristi. She wanted me to write about her...well actually she said she wanted me to poast about her. Not sure what that means. :)

Anyway, I will say that it's been great having Kristi in town. We try to meet up about once a week...did I say meet?...well, she comes here. What a trooper! She also knows my butt won't drive in that crazy Houston traffic! That's why I don't live there!! So it has been nice seeing and hanging out with her. I really don't know how she has been here so long. I would LITERALLY go insane without seeing Matt for that long....but I do know that Matt and I lived in a hotel for 3 months and it was AWESOME!! Room service and a maid!! What more could you ask for? I do know it's hard for her though....but she says her job here is better than her job in Dallas. So you do what ya gotta do!! She has offered to keep Andrew so Matt and I can go out one night. We haven't taken her up on, but don't worry Kristi... WE WILL!!! :) You are sweet to offer!! We'll see you tomorrow night!!

friday night

It's funny how when I was younger I HAD to have plans on Friday night! Now that I'm older...I really don't care!! Call me a grandma! I see my friends during the week, so it's not like we have to get together every weekend. All that being said... we were all invited over to a party tonight. I was quick to turn the offer down as I wanted to work in my scrapbook. Matt, on the other hand, was quick to say he would go! So I've been doing my own thing tonight. Once Andrew went to bed at 6:45...I hit the books!! I didn't realize how far behind my scrapbook was!! YIKES! I haven't updated it in 4 months. Where does the time go? A part of me thinks maybe I shouldn't take as many pictures!!...that would help cut out on all the scrapping'! Oh well! So my house will be in shambles for a week until I get caught up. It's definitely worth it though!

Back to Matt leaving me for the night....I really think it's healthy for husbands and wives to do their own things once in a while. I have a friend who won't let her husband do anything without her!! Matt will want to do something with her husband and then I end up having to go too because his wife is going!! Drives me crazy!! Am I wrong? Should I do everything Matt does? Some of you have been married longer than I have....what do you think??? Do we need marriage counseling? :P

I'm off to bed...this grandma has been up way past her bedtime!

lunch

There isn't really much to report around here. I went to lunch with some teacher friends today that are out on break. I hadn't seen them since November. One of the girls brought her daughter and all she wanted to do was hold Andrew. She wouldn't let anyone else hold him. It was funny. It was good to catch up on everyone and visit. However, they keep bugging me to come back. Maybe I should tell them if the money is right!!...nah, that wouldn't make me want to go back either!

bumper pads

Why do they say you need to take the bumper pad out of the crib? I mean I've researched it, but I just don't get it. I really don't think he will suffocate from it. His face is never in it. I know if he stepped on it to climb out of the crib...it wouldn't work. It pushes way down. So really...why do you have to take it out? Am I missing something? I hate to take it out because he rolls all around and I know he will bump his head. Advice please....

best buds

Andrew had a friend come over today. I know what you're thinking...can he even play? Well, they did! My friend Dawn has a boy who is almost a month older than Andrew. We had lunch while the boys played. It was funny because Gavin would crawl on Andrew and Andrew had this look on his face like...what the heck?! Gavin would have a toy he was chewing on and Andrew would crawl up and take it from him....is my child going to be one of "those kids" who can't share? I sure hope not!!! They stayed for a couple of hours and we had a fun time!! Both boys will probably be taking a long nap today. They just played too hard!!

Can I just add that I do know how to type! For some reason when I publish my post it only puts one space after the period or exclamation point and not two.

random stuff

Not much has been going on here. Just keeping my eyes on speedy now that he's crawling. He's keeping me busy, but I'm loving every minute of it!!

I had lunch with some friends yesterday. One being the "friend" who is going back to work. I am going to be keeping her baby on Wednesdays starting in two weeks. I feel sorry for her because she is not looking forward to going back to work at all. Frankly..I don't blame her!!

My friend with the twins is doing much better!! Her liver and kidney were weak, but she is doing great now. An answered prayer! I was really worried about her. When I saw her on Sunday she did not look good. Her husband called me today because they were going home and he needed help with the car seats. The hospital let them borrow some car seats because the babies are under 5 pounds and have to have a special seat. So Matt and I ran up there to help him get them in the car.

Funny thing...the secretary from my old school emailed me today asking if I wanted to come back to work next year in the office. I had to laugh! Today I was outside with Andrew helping Matt plant flowers...okay, I was watching him plant them...and I was thinking how lucky I am to be able to stay home. Then I got that email...what a coincidence!


Guess I had more to say than I thought. Oh well!! Hope you enjoyed the pictures of Andrew!
