first bath

Blake had his first bath today!! I hated giving him a sponge bath and with him spitting up the boy would need it daily. I like to be able to just dunk him in water and not worry about his bellybutton...well, not really dunk but you know what I mean. He actually enjoyed it. I was surprised because the first sponge bath we did he cried.

Blake's been doing a little better on his meds. Well, some days he barely spits up and other he's very spitty. He's not fussy when he does it though so that's good. He's doing really well at night. He's been going two 4 hr stretches!! I've also been able to get a nap when the boys go down after lunch. I was so worried I'd never be able to nap again...but so far I've been able to!!

Andrew has actually been touching Blake a little more...just on his head. He's very gentle with him. I'm sure all that will change soon enough!!

Blake started Prevacid this week. He's been a spitter since we were in the hospital but within the last week it's gotten worse. He's had his moments where he'd get very fussy after eating and you can just tell he's in pain. (poor guy) So, hopefully this medicine will work. He hasn't been on it long enough for me to tell yet. I just hate having to give him medicine and he's not even two weeks old!

Andrew has really come around. Whenever Blake cries he tells him "it's okay!" He doesn't touch Blake (which I guess is good) but loves to look at him. :)

Our Sunday school class has been bringing us meals and it's been so nice! Matt complains because he still has to do the dishes but I told him the point is for ME not to have to do work!!! But we are both grateful to our friends who have spoiled us with some great food!

Well, just figured I'd give a little update and let y'all know we are doing well!!

It's a sad, sad day today...our extra help has left!!! My parents came in Monday afternoon and left at lunch today. It's been nice having them here. I was definitely spoiled. We had a nice visit and I think reality is about to set in. :)

quick update

Thanks everyone for the sweet comments. We are definitely enjoy our boys!!

Blake is doing really well. I think the boy would sleep all night if I let him (I probably just jinxed myself!) My only problem is nursing...which I struggled with Andrew and gave up after 5 months. I won't get into details for the guys that read this. I met with a lactation lady at the drs office and she gave me some good tips that seem like they will work. We'll see!

Andrew is a little jealous. I think each day it gets a little easier for him tho. He doesn't like it when I'm hold Blake or am feeding him and could care less if Daddy is hold him. So I'm trying to spend extra time with him and make him feel included. It's funny tho because when he gets up from his nap he'll run to our room looking for Blake saying..."beebee"..."where'd he go?" He doesn't like that Blake has a passy and is constantly trying to steal it. He'll eventually learn.

My parents are coming in today to help for the week. Matt goes back to work tomorrow and I'm sure he will think he's on vacation at work! I've been running the boy ragged! :) So there's your update! Once I get some pics on my laptop I'll post some from the hospital and all.

still here!

Some of you have asked if I'm still around...and I'm here to tell you...I am! I'm very much ready for this little guy to get here!! If I didn't know I was going to be induced Thursday I would be going insane! I'm uncomfortable and just plain ready.

We finally pulled out some of Andrew's old things for Blake. However, I don't think Blake will get to use them...Andrew kept trying to climb in the swing so I decided to put his stuffed animals in it. He had fun pushing and singing to them. I hope he's that sweet to his brother.

Poor Blake will probably never sleep in the swing!

I've got a lot going on tomorrow and probably won't post before I go in Thursday morning. I'll try to post some pics of Blake when we get home and settled.

color drama

Being big and prego makes it hard for me to sit down and play with Andrew these days. My belly usually gets in the way and I'm just plain uncomfortable! Anyway, my parents got Andrew some colors for the tub. We've used them once and it was a nightmare getting the boy out of the tub. So today I thought I would put him in the tub and he could color for as long as his little heart desired.....Woo-hoo! Havin' fun in the tub!!

My mom is so mean! She only let me play in the tub for 30 minutes!!! WAAAAH

I mean, come on...30 minutes was plenty of time. I was getting hungry for lunch! He threw about a 10 minute fit, then ate lunch....and is now napping! My house is nice and quiet!! Not for long...I know!

dr update

Well, I went to the doctor on Tuesday and was excited to find out that I've actually dilated to a 1!!! With Andrew I was barely a 1 when I was induced 5 days late! Anyway, my doctor has said that she will induce me after next Tuesday. I'll be 39 weeks then. So Matt and I have decided to be induced on Thursday. I do have to call at 5:30 AM and make sure they have a bed for me. There is a chance they won't and then I'll try again on Friday. So we'll see! I'm excited and just hope everything goes smoothly!! And who knows...maybe I'll go into labor on my own!!!
