tidbits

Here are a few tidbits of what's been going on...

We took Andrew to get his 1st haircut. I've been dreading doing it because I knew it was going to be short and all his curls would be gone. It's short and they are gone! However, it's so stinkin' hot here that I'm sure Andrew appreciates it. (Doesn't he look like he's appreciating it in this picture below?)

Strappin' him in so he won't go anywhere...and believe me he was ready to get out of there!

He started watching cars and finally calmed down.

The final product! Not bad!

Deborah and her girls came in to see us yesterday. Well, they went to see Jennifer P. and Michelle too. Her girls are so sweet and it was great to finally meet them! Andrew didn't want to share his toys and then cried when they left.

My family is having a family reunion in Galveston next week. I think we might go down for a couple of days. I hate that Blake hasn't had his shots yet but I plan on keeping him from being passed around.

Today's our 4 year anniversary!! Where does the time go??

Guess that's about it!

big brother

When we brought Blake home Andrew wasn't too sure what to think. He knew he didn't want me holding the "beebee" and it seemed like every time he came home I was nursing Blake. When he would see this he would just cry and throw himself on the floor. He quickly realized that was getting him nowhere! He had no desire to hold Blake but loved to touch his head .... go figure. Anyway, he's really come a long way! He knows that when I go in our room and Blake is sleeping he can't go in...however, he stands at the door and pushes it open against the door stopper (which makes noise)...but at least he's not standing at Blake's bed yelling "beebee" anymore! We're working on the door thing! He also likes to give Blake his passy. Here are some pics...
Okay, so he puts it in sideways sometimes. ..but he tries!
(Do you see the blanket Andrew is on? Anytime I put Blake on the floor Andrew will get a blanket out for himself!)

It's funny because Andrew will give him the passy and Blake will just keep his mouth wide open. You know how newborns do? Well, Andrew decided since Blake wouldn't close his mouth he would just hold it in there!!

I just thought this was a cute pic so I had to add it!

Sorry my posts are all about my kids...that's all I have going on these days!

random pics

Here are some random pics from this past week. Yesterday I had tried taking a picture of the boys together...that was a challenge! It was the first time Andrew actually held Blake. You can see in the pics Andrew really didn't want to touch him.

update on big a and little b

Blake's a month old today! Boy time flies when you're lacking sleep...and having fun! He's still only going about 4-5 hours at night...but only being 4 weeks...I'll take what I can get. His reflux was pretty bad that he is now on two medicines. I hate that he is on meds being so little but I definitely have seen a difference with this new medicine. He has to take it ever 6 hours so that's just one more thing for me to remember!! As long as he doesn't have a gas bubble or hungry he's a happy kiddo!

Andrew, on the other hand, is crazier than ever! The boy cracks us up daily. I don't know where he gets his craziness from! Okay, yes I do!

He loves these sunglasses and wears them daily! I think because they look like daddy's.

Running around the house being crazy in his glasses...right before bed!

I've finally taken the bumper pad off Andrew's bed. I know, he's almost two...about time! I just liked it in there because he would lie up against it and stuff. Well, last night I guess Andrew figured he'd make his own bumper pad out of diapers. When Matt and I went to check on him before we went to bed...this is what we found....

easy entertainment

This morning I decided to let Andrew play with the water hose out back. Nothing captures his attention like the hose! He could play with it for hours. It was nice because I just sat there and watched him entertain himself! (normally he drags us out in the heat to play!)
He also loved playing with these bowls.

Playing in the dirt...yuck!!!

Cleaning up before going in for lunch. (Check out that belly!!!)

Where was Blake?.....

Snoozing!! Isn't he so sweet?!!

routine

Here's a little update of how we are doing..

Well, I think we are actually getting into a routine around here!! Blake's doing well and getting big! I was a little worried he might not be gaining weight since he spits up quite a bit. I took him to the hospital to be weighed and the boy weighs 9lbs. 6oz. Now, that's with clothes and all on so it might be off a few ounces. Anyway, I was just glad to see he had put on almost a pound since our last doctor visit.

Night feedings are going good. He's still only stretching his first night feeding between 4-5 hours...but I'm not complaining! They say 5 hrs is considered sleeping through the night. I, however, feel that 7-8 hrs is sleeping through the night and can't wait for those days!! :)

I'm trying to get Blake to go to sleep on his own. With him having reflux we keep him sitting up for 30 mins. after he eats....usually we are holding him and he'll fall asleep in our arms. Then when I try to put him down he wakes up and cries. So, I'm trying to break that. He's doing okay with it during the day but at 8PM he struggles with it. I know he's still young, but I can't hold the boy all day with a nearly 2 year old who wants mommy to play!

Andrew is doing really well with Blake...well, except for when Andrew wanted to show me that Blake has an eye and poked him right in the eyeball! Poor Blake! He barely flinched! I could see it coming but just couldn't stop Andrew in time.

Well, Andrew wants to play trains so I better end this!
