this might be a snoozer

Well, not much to report around the Landy household. Andrew's over the flu and feeling better. I think he's teething though (hence the fingers in the mouth.) He's still gets pretty fussy and just hasn't been back in full force. I'm chalking it up to teething...hope that's what it is.

I've been nesting lately!! Hope that doesn't mean Blake's coming early. I've washed all Andrew's old clothes up to 6 months. It was fun going through them. I don't even remember Andrew being as little as some of those clothes!! He loves to go in his brother's room... mainly to hide in the closet. He calls it "bee's" room.

Matt's been working in the evenings lately so I'm going to start scrapping Blake's album. One day I'm going to catch my OWN album up!!

Next weekend I'll (hopefully) be enjoying a girl's weekend in Dallas (aka Jill's shower). I'm very excited!! It will be my FIRST time to be away from Andrew overnight!! Hope I make it through the night!! This all depends on how my doctor apt. goes on Thursday. At 29 weeks with Andrew I wasn't allowed to travel...hopefully this one will be different!

Sorry for the boring post with random info... I added the pictures so you wouldn't be too bored! What can I say, it's been boring around here!!!

eating my words

The other day I was talking to a friend about how Andrew's only been sick one time (aside from having an occasional cold) and that was when Jolie and Megan were here. Well, he made me eat those words at 3:30 AM Friday. He was throwing up!! Can I just tell you my pregnant self doesn't handle that kind of stuff well. Matt was working so I couldn't make him help. I definitely had to suck it up!!! We've been couped up in the house for 3 days now and we are going a little crazy!!!!!!! Andrew's doing much better and finally keeping stuff down. I'm just praying that Matt and I don't get it.

We have watched 113 Baby Einstein videos, and 218 Praise Baby videos. Okay, maybe not that many but we have watched a lot of videos. It's the ONLY way I could get his mind off eating and drinking.

Here's how Andrew made the time pass...

Mommy was too tired to read to him so he had to read it to himself. And yes, he was spoiled and got to suck on his passy during the day.

He was getting bored with his toys so I pulled out Christmas presents I had stashed away. I should have known that he just wanted to play with the box.

So, Carrie, due to lack of sleep and one sick little guy...this is as good as it gets! Sorry no video and good luck with the TAKS!

Here's my funny Andrew story for the week. I'm sure I have more but this one sticks out. When Andrew takes a bath he has some letters in the tub that he plays with. He loves to pick up random letters and call it either an A, E, or I. So the other day he picked up the letter G and said "I." I said, "No, that's a G." So he says...."ahhhgeee." Get it? A G? I was like..."no, baby, it's just GGGG." Okay, well, it cracked me up! Maybe it's because I've been stuck in the house all weekend!!

my little drooling martian

Does the boy have teeth coming in or what?
He thought it was SO funny to put his cups on his ears!! Never a dull moment here.
I have to add this story...
Whenever we leave the house Andrew always brings one of his puppy dogs. Well, today he took one with him to church. When I went to pick him up his teacher told me that there was a boy who cried when his mommy dropped him off. Andrew walked over to him and handed him his dog. The teacher said it was so sweet because the boy actually stopped crying for a few minutes. Now a normal mom would think...aww, my child is so sweet. Not me! The whole time I was thinking...now I've gotta go home and wash that dog!!!

Andrew's new room

This weekend we moved Andrew's "baby furniture" out of his room and into Blake's. We started with the changing table. As we pushed it out Andrew whimpered and followed us out of the room. It was then that it hit me...this could be hard for Andrew. I really hadn't thought about it before then. We continued on and had Andrew help us move stuff in to Blake's room. He loved helping and I think it took his mind off of what was really going on. I worried that bedtime would be hard for him...but he went down without a sound. Thankfully!!

We haven't purchased him a real bed and won't for a while. He'll stay in my sister's old crib (which was attacked by beavers!) and then we'll eventually turn it into a toddler bed. I don't want to make him grow up too fast!! We aren't done with his room though...I'd like new curtains, basket liners (not important details) and his dresser should come this week. So I can't do much at this point.

I will add that it is SO nice to have a living room with a FEW toys and books in it. I know once Blake gets here it will be filled with a swing, bouncy seat and such...but I can enjoy these next few months!!!

this is for you moms out there...

Lately I've been talking to some friends about babies being on a schedule. I'm not going to go into details because I don't want to start a debate or anything. What I want to know is ....

--- did you put your baby on a schedule (by baby I mean one month or older) (by schedule I mean did you have your baby eat every 3 hours or so or did you just feed whenever.)
---also, when did your baby start sleeping through the night?

Thanks for your input!!!

You should definitely hit her up for some baby stuff because I'm sold!! Thanks Michelle! It is all adorable!! Can't wait for Blake to get here and put them to use!

arkansas or bust!

This weekend we went to meet Andrew's new cousin Jack!!! He's a month old now and is such a little cutie! Just holding him got me all excited about Blake coming! It was a VERY quick trip. We spent the night in Shreveport Satuday night and headed up to Arkansas for the day on Sunday to meet Jack. Headed back to Shreveport Sunday night and came home today! My prego body was KILLING me on the way home! I was worse than a 3 year old asking... "Are we there yet???" Jack was definitely worth it though!! We can't wait for him to get big so he can play with Andrew!!!Aunt Shandra, Uncle Matt and little Jack

Best "buds" to be!

One busy weekend leads to one tired little guy!

busy bees

Well, we've been busy little bees around here lately. We are trying to get Blake's room done. We've painted it...well, Matt did majority of the painting...and now we just need to move in the furniture. We can't do that until we get Andrew some "big boy" furniture. My sister has loaned me her crib for him that turns into a toddler bed. I think we are going to leave him in the crib until after Blake gets here and starts sleeping through the night. It's just so easy to put Andrew to bed and I know he will run with the freedom of a toddler bed. So I will fight that battle when Blake starts sleeping through the night....which will hopefully be as early as Andrew did! PLEASE, LORD!! Anyway, we are looking for matching big boy furniture and will just store his twin bed until we need it.

In the picture you see that we had to hand paint the brown line. We couldn't find tape to stick on the wall. It was a little bit of a nightmare but I'm really impressed with it. Here's the finished project.....
I know it has a glare...but you get the point!! I think we still had another coat of brown to put on when I took this picture.

What was Andrew doing while we were painting?...

You know...just chillin' and watching Johnny and the Sprites with his belly hangin' out!

I'll leave you with this picture of Andrew and his silliness! He loves books! Loves to read them, for you to read them and he's just figure out he can stand them up! It was funny because he would stand them up and then try to fit his big bottom in the middle of them and they would all fall down...and he wasn't happy!!! So that's his latest trick...if you even call that a trick. Carrie, sorry I don't have a video of it. It was quite entertaining for me to watch him try to get in the middle of them!!!
