vacation and a sad day :(

Well, we're back from our vacation!! Matt went to the lake with his family and I ended up staying at my parent's. I don't mind going to the lake, but with Andrew being so young I didn't want to be cooped up in a cabin all day. I hadn't seen my parents since January either. It was a very good trip, but it's nice to be home!! Here's the only picture I took while we were gone... Andrew on our way home. It was about a 7 hour trip and he was SO good!! Well, thanks to the TV and Baby Einstein!

Today's a sad day. :( Kristi came over for her 'last supper' tonight.... well, really she came to play with Andrew!! He's not going to know what to do now that she won't be coming to visit us weekly! I know she's ready to get home to her hubby...but we sure are going to miss her. :( Andrew says thanks for the books too!!!!

...why she can't scroll down to the pictures I posted three days ago...I don't know. Just kidding Carrie!! Anyway, Matt had taken some pics this morning, so I figured I would post them. I know I said I would never post pictures of Andrew in his Arkansas outfit, but that's what he had on today...I'm saving his good clothes for our trip!! HA!! Here he's walking with his car...that's his new thing to do.
He also LOVES to listen to stories!! I can't just read him a story one time or he will cry when I put it up. He would literally sit and listen to stories all day long! I'm sure it's just a phase he's going through, but it's quite funny!!!

I'm adding this picture because I think it's SO CUTE! He looks so innocent. Well, it's obviously blurry, but I love it! I don't know why I can't take a picture. I guess I need Linda to give me some lessons!!!

Well, I haven't posted in a while because I don't really have much to tell!!

Kristi came over tonight and hung out. It's been fun having her in the Houston area and we will hate to see her go. I know Andrew will miss her too! He's almost got her name down! :)

We are going to see family next week and I'm very excited. Last time I was out of town was ...I guess November...no maybe January. Well, whenever it was...it was too long ago!!!

Also, I would like to say that everyone needs to go click on Broughton's blog.. http://www.myspace.com/56696863. The boy just finished law school and honestly....HE NEEDS A JOB!!! He needs to quit commenting on people's blogs as ME... PUNK!!!! I'm going to sick Talley (Kristi) on you if you don't quit!! I've heard you can go to jail for that!!! So if anyone wants to hire Broughton...or just give him a hard time.....go to his blog!!!

my 1st Mother's Day!

Well, Megan thinks Todd's the best....but I have to say I think Matt's the best!!! :)


I had a great first Mother's Day! Matt helped out with Andrew and gave me the night off... he worked in the morning!! I didn't have to lift a finger!! My gift didn't come in until yesterday, so my Mother's Day was extended into Monday!! What more could a girl ask for? Thank you Matt for making my day very special! You're the best husband... and daddy in my book!! I love you!!!

How could I forget...Kristi made my day special (the day before) by bringing me an ice cream cake too!! It was super yummy!! Thanks Kristi!! That was so sweet of you!!

just a swingin'

Today Matt and I took Andrew to the park. He was four months old last time we went so we figured he would probably enjoy it a little more now. Thought I would share some pictures from our day....

a fun surprise!!

How cute are these shoes??!! Yesterday Andrew got a fun surprise from a friend! Not sure if my friend wants me to share this or not, but I am!! :) They came in for a visit and felt the need to send us something for letting them stay. They totally did NOT have to do that!! (I'm sure you know who it is...if not, do the math!) These are the best shoes and Andrew loves them! Not once did he try to pull them off! Thanks so much friend!!! You are too sweet!!

motherly advice

So Bradley and Carrie are buggin' me about posting and this post won't even pertain to them...sorry!

Anyway, I need some motherly advice...Andrew hasn't been eating much lately. He won't touch his jar food..or homemade food and is barely drinking any formula. My doctor has always told me it doesn't matter how much jar food he eats as long as he's getting at least 16 oz. of formula a day. I think he's getting maybe 9 oz. He's been sick so I kind of blew it off on that, but now I'm wondering if he just doesn't like jar food. Could that be? The reason I'm thinking this is because he will go to town on shredded cheese and fish sticks! (Yes Jolie, Andrew is eating your fish sticks!!) So any ideas??? I'm tired of wasting jar food on the boy!!

the strains visit!!

Let me just fill you in on my week!...

Wednesday morning Andrew woke up with a little fever. He had been drooling a lot so I just chalked it up to teething. Megan and Jolie were on there way here so I filled her in and she agreed he was probably teething. She also informed me Jolie was too, so we figured they would both be whiney together! ;) Kristi came over later that night and had dinner with us. Thursday I had some friends over for lunch to play with Andrew and Jolie. They all had fun. Jolie started running a little fever, but we chalked that up to teething because she has some molars coming in. Tylenol knocked it out! Then Thursday night Andrew was up all night! He was tuggin on his ear and very uncomfortable! This morning I took him to the doctor and he has croup and an ear infection!!!....plus both his top teeth are coming in!!! Poor guy! When we got back from the doctor Jolie woke up from her nap with a 103 fever! Talk about a house of sick kiddos! Megan decided it was best to leave in case her fever went up and she could take her to her own doctor. Poor Jolie. I hope she wasn't fussy or anything on the way home!! I would be miserable.

Other than the sick kiddos, we really enjoyed our visit with Megan and Jolie. The kids got along great! Jolie is so sweet and such a lovable girl! Even with a 103 fever she was blowing us kisses as she left. I wish they could have stayed longer and the kids were feeling better so we could have actually gotten out of the house! :) But it was great seeing y'all Megan!! I'm SO glad y'all came and we DEFINITELY have to do it again since we are so close!!!

On a side note....Andrew started taking steps yesterday!!! I'm so excited! I really think it was because he would watch Jolie walk. The most he can do is maybe 6 steps, but it's a start!

a sad day

It's a sad day for me today! :( We went to pick Andrew up from the nursery and were told they are bumping him up to the crawlers. I'm bummed because it means my baby is growing up. I'm also bummed because there is not one consistant adult in the crawler room each week. They do have adults in there every week, but it's never the same person like in the nursery. They tried to keep him in the nursery as long as they could (they spoil him!), but they are getting too many new babies. Matt and I worked in the nursery last week and I told Matt how Andrew really needs to be in the crawlers....he was all over the place! They took him into the crawlers today for a bit and said he didn't like it. Hopefully next week he will play more. I just dread the crawler room because they all chew on EVERYTHING! I know my days of having a child who is never sick (knock on wood) is coming to an end. :(
