lol, jessica. i thought about doing that but i'm having some friends over so i wanted each kid to make their own. i was thinking of using graham crackers but i'm afraid i'm going to need something better than store icing to keep it together.

The kit I bought was by Wilton, and their Royal Icing is what is used for "glue". The recipe is here: http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/icing/royal.cfm

Or you could buy the kit, and use the icing from the kit. There is a ton of it in the kit.

A thought: Gingerbread men might be easier. There's a kit for that, too. Contains 8 men. You can get it at Michael's. Probably Walmart or Target, too. Here's a link: http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=69BD8217-423B-522D-FC0F96BE26A1D990&fid=69BD8284-423B-522D-F8B8A47BF9118532

My husband's aunt does one every year and she was even featured in a Longaberger magazine once hosting her annual gingerbread house party! I'm pretty sure she uses g-crackers and royal icing. You can buy the meringue instead of using eggs. I wouldn't use can or buttercream frosting because like you mentioned, it wouldn't hold. Good luck!
