halloween

Since Andrew was so young last Halloween, we called this his first "real" Halloween. I think he enjoyed it...
Dressed up as Bret Favre...even though he didn't trick-or-treat.

Andrew says he can take on Bret Favre ANY DAY!!

Anxiously awaiting the trick-or-treaters.

Trying to sneak some candy. He wasn't sure what it was, but he knew it was leaving the house quickly! He had to get his hands on it!!!

Who me? I wasn't taking ANY candy!!!

pumpkin patch

This morning we met some friends at a pumpkin patch down the road. Since we had about 800 inches of rain these last two weeks I was afraid it would be a mud pit. It wasn't too bad. There were a couple of puddles and Andrew wanted to play in ALL of them! He tried picking up all sizes of pumpkins and got dirt all over his white shirt...why did I put him in a white shirt???This was the best picture we got of Andrew. (Plus it hid his big mud stain!)

I thought this was just a funny picture. He wasn't too sure what I was doing to him.

The fam

Picture of all the kiddos. It was pretty amusing trying to get this picture!!

a little gripe

Thanks everyone for the comments about baby #2. We are very excited! I've heard having 1 baby is easy and 2 is chaotic, so we will see. I thought 1 got chaotic at times!! :)

It amazes me what people have said to me since telling that we are pregnant. Just to share a few...

I always get the ...Oh! Congratulations!...then it's followed by...Now, how old is Andrew? I say how old he is and then feel like I have to justify it by saying...he'll be 22 1/2 months by the time the baby gets here. It annoys me because it's not like Andrew 6 months old! I want to say...this is perfect timing for us...don't question it!!!!!!!!!!

And 2 times now I've gotten the whole...was it planned!? How rude is that? One lady at my church said to me how she saw my name on the expectant mom's list. She said congratulations and....was this planned? I should have said..Yes! God's plan! I hardly even know this lady and was really annoyed that someone I hardly know would make that comment.

Okay, I'm done! Just had to gripe!!

I've been keeping a secret!!

It's been a hard secret to keep, but I've had my reasons why we needed to keep it a secret....I'll share that in a bit. Now it's time I can share...with the help of Andrew...

Okay, so really the shirt should read, "I'm going to be a big brother." I couldn't find one at the time. I figured it would get the point accross!

Matt and I had decided that this time if/when we get pregnant we would tell family in person. It's more fun that way. We've told my side of the family (over the past month) and haven't seen Matt's family to tell them yet. However, they will be here today!!! We didn't think we would see family until Christmas (which would have been SO hard for me to keep it a secret that long) but it has worked out for us to see/meet up with them before then. I haven't been able to share on here because my sister-in-law reads my blog...didn't want to spill the beans.

Anyway, I'm 10 1/2 weeks and my due date is May 15th. I'm feeling great these days. However, in the beginning I was pretty nauseous. Food didn't sound good at all. Thankfully when I hit 10 weeks all that went out the window!! Just had to share my news FINALLY!

rain, rain, go away!!

Man, it's done nothing but rain here for the past two days. We have needed some rain but not this flooding!! It did entertain Andrew for a while tho...

What's going on out there?

He decided that he would try to climb up the door. Who knows what that boy was thinking!!

We did get out in the rain today as Andrew had to go to the doctor. It was a 15 month well visit. Poor guy, I think he thought he was there to play. He was so excited and kept wanting to play with all the other sick kids. I just wanted our name called!! He had no idea what was about to happen behind those closed doors...shots!!! I had to prepare myself for this visit because last time I nearly cried with him! I hate how I have to hold his arms down! Why do I have to be the bad guy too?? So the doctor comes in and plays with Andrew and such... before he leaves he says Andrew will be getting 3 shots today. I said okay. He leaves and then the nurse came back. She makes the comment that he's getting 2 shots. I told her the doctor said it was 3. She proceeds to tell me they combined some and it will just be 2. I was happy with that! She gives the shots while I hold him down and Andrew SCREAMS! I immediately pick him up when it's over and try to calm him down. She leaves and I pack our stuff up and she comes back in saying..."I'm sorry Mrs. Landrum, you were right, it's supposed to be 3 shots." I couldn't believe! No way am I putting my child back down on that table because he might go into convulsions! He already had started to cry when she came back in...like he knew!!! She let me hold him for the last shot and he of course didn't like it one bit!! Poor guy! I sure hope there are no side effects from these shots. Guess we'll find out in the next couple of days. I have to take him back next week for a flu shot...maybe I'll send him with his daddy!!!!

grandparents visit

My parents were in this week for a visit. I sure wish we lived closer to family. With Matt's work schedule, it's hard for us to get away. I think we probably see both sides of our family about 3 times a year. Kinda stinks! I know I could travel with Andrew by myself to go see them, but it would be a tough trip and I'm too chicken. I didn't mind when Andrew was a baby, but now that he's older I worry about potty stops and occasional fits to get out of his seat.

Here's Grandma reading Andrew one of his favorite books. (Thanks Kristi!)

They got Andrew a pumpkin. At first he had no interests in it, but when Papa started pulling stuff out he was a little curious.

Matt carved the pumpkin. He did a great job and Andrew loves seeing it all lit up!!

It was a good visit and we wished they could have stayed longer. This weekend we have Matt's family coming. We are very excited about seeing them!! There visit will be short too...maybe it's us!?!?!

newest obsession

Andrew has had some obsessions. Here are a few.... bringing me ALL his shoes from his room one at a time...pressing the cd button on my laptop while I'm on it then running away when it opens .....and now it's taking the tupperware out of the cabinet. I will say it entertains him while I'm cooking and he has no interest in any other cabinet. Here he is caught in the act...

So he makes a big mess on the floor...

and then carries them off to his room...crazy boy!!

museum

Today we met some friends at The Children's Museum. It was our frist time to take Andrew and I think he actually enjoyed it. I think when he gets older he will enjoy it even more. He loved playing in 'the dig' area...until some kid stole his dinosaur. I had all to do to not knock that kid down because he DEFINITELY knew he was taking a toy from a baby...punk! Andrew found another dinosaur and went about his buisness.

They had this hat in there and for some reason Andrew kept it on!!

fun times

Today we took Andrew to the SplashPad. I thought they were closing in October, but found out they will stay open year round! Since it's hot here basically year round...I'm pumped!!

Here's Andrew thinking he's a stud in his wagon.

Cooling off his belly!

Andrew had issues with his hat today. Guess his head is getting big!

Here's Andrew and Matt running through the water. I, on the other hand, didn't want to get my hair wet!
